THE ORIGIN AND HISTORY OF THE CLUB:
Originating as a Company, the Seatoun Bowling and Tennis Club Limited was established in 1912.
Fifty years later, in 1962 The Seatoun Bowling and Tennis Club Limited celebrated its Golden Jubilee
shortly before becoming The Seatoun Bowling Club (Inc) as it stands today.
Seatoun Woman’s Bowling Club 1943-1997 – On the July 15th 1943 the first official meeting of the “Ladies” Bowling Club was convened by Mrs. G.Hayden. This was the second Woman’s Bowling Club established In Wellington.
As a long standing figure of the Seatoun community The SBC proudly celebrated its Centenary in 2012
and is looking forward to another successful 100 years running.
To be the club of choice for people in the Seatoun and surrounding area allowing them to enjoy recreation and
fellowship through the sport of lawn bowls and ancillary activities with an emphasis on social development,
sportsmanship and community involvement.
To provide people of all capabilities the opportunity to participate in the club and in local, regional and national lawn bowls programs.
